Every year I host the UN Women International Women’s Day Breakfast in Adelaide.
UN Women raises money and awareness for programs that empower women in developing countries. It’s extremely important work, and I’m proud to be able to contribute to it.
Every year we feature a different woman as our guest speaker. This year we were extremely lucky to have writer, lawyer and teacher Alice Pung speak about growing up, and her mother’s experiences as a recently arrived refugee.
Past speakers have included physicist Professor Tanya Monroe, ABC foreign correspondent Sally Sara and tennis star Evonne Goolagong Cawley.
