Yesterday I had the privilege of joining staff, students and parents (and SA Science Minister Tom Kenyon) at the official opening of the Paracombe Primary school resource centre and library.
The new building was constructed using funds from the Labor Government’s Building the Education Revolution program. Over 9,500 schools across Australia have benefited from long-overdue upgrades to sporting facilities, resource centres, halls, and play equipment.
The students put on a fantastic show, with many of the performances showcasing how the resource centre (with projector, study space, assembly area and interactive whiteboard) would help Paracombe students with their research and learning. A highlight was a scarily accurate rendition of ABC’s Q and A.
It’s always great to see these projects when they’ve been completed, and to see the creative ways that students find to use them.
